Home PageIn January 2009 the eleventh annual Christmas Tree Collection raised over £45,000 for the East Cheshire Hospice to help meet its £5,500 per day running costs. This broke the previous record of £36,600. In addition £7,400 was reclaimed from the Government under the Gift Aid scheme. Over £159,000 has been donated to the Hospice by supporters of the Christmas Tree Collection since 2001.
Over 4,300 individual collections were made using 30 lorries and support from over 120 helpers each day. Over 47 Tonnes of Christmas Trees were re-cycled - equivalent to 10 African elephants! Thank you again to those who supported the 2009 collection.
The 2010 collection will take place on the 23rd & 24th January (amended dates). This year we celebrate 10 years collecting for the Hospice. We hope to increase the amount donated to the Hospice. If you would like to help with the Collection please see the To arrange collection and recycling of your tree please visit the The 2010 Collection (12th Year)It is a simple idea which works on the principle of "save all that mess in your car by having your Christmas Tree collected in return for a small donation". You book in with us and we will collect and recycle your old tree and collect your donation to the Hospice - no mess and no worries! All of your donation goes to the Hospice. DateCollections will take place during the weekend of the 23rd and 24th January 2010 (amended dates). Time of CollectionDue to the vast number of trees to be collected we are unable to give an exact time when we will be in your area. Suggested Minimum DonationWe suggest a minimum donation of £4-00 per tree - this will run the Hospice for about 1 minute! However, this is a worthwhile cause so please be generous if you can. We will let you know how to donate when you book in. For security, cheques are preferred, payable to the East Cheshire Hospice. We will never ask for cash. Gift AidDoesn't cost you a thing - If you pay tax, Gift Aid is a scheme by which you can give a sum of money to charity and the charity can reclaim from HMRC basic rate tax on your gift. That increases the value of the gift you make to the charity, currently 25 pence per pound donated. You must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that the Hospice reclaims on your donation in the appropriate tax year. So if you want your donation to go further, just confirm you want to Gift Aid it. It’s that simple. You can cancel this at any time. You can find more details on the HMRC website To arrange collection of your tree please visit the Thank you for your support.
